About Nucleus
A Spreadsheet Problem Became a Platform
Every good product starts with a pain point someone actually felt. Nucleus started with a row in a spreadsheet that should have been a system.
The Origin
In 2016, Jeff Hopp and Sebastian Broways found themselves in a mastermind group together. Like every mastermind group, theirs had a spreadsheet — tracking goals, milestones, accountability. And like every spreadsheet, it was a mess.
After adding yet another row, they looked at each other and said: "There has to be a better solution. If there isn't one, we should build it."
That became Mastermind Manager — an all-in-one platform for running mastermind groups. Video conferencing with built-in agendas and timers. Goal tracking with milestones. Group chat between meetings. Facilitator tools. White-label branding.
The product shipped. It got listed on Capterra, Product Hunt, and SourceForge. It appeared in "best mastermind software" roundups. Real groups used it to run real meetings.
The Pivot
But something became clear: the problem wasn't unique to mastermind groups. Every team, every community, every coaching practice had the same issue — scattered information, disconnected meetings, knowledge that never compounded.
The team raised capital and rebranded. Mastermind Manager became Nucleus. The vision expanded from mastermind facilitation to building digital brains — centralized knowledge systems for any group that thinks for a living.
The Nucleus Approach was born: a methodology for turning scattered information into a structured, evolving knowledge system. Not just a tool — a way of thinking about how teams create, capture, and use knowledge.
The Nucleus Approach
A digital brain isn't a folder of documents. It's a living system where every piece of knowledge connects to every other piece. The Nucleus Approach is built on three principles:
Centralize
Every meeting, note, decision, and resource lives in one place. Not five apps, not three shared drives — one system.
Connect
Ideas link to other ideas. Goals connect to meetings. Decisions trace back to evidence. Your knowledge network grows with every interaction.
Compound
Unlike a spreadsheet that stays flat, a digital brain gets smarter over time. Every new input strengthens the whole system.
